Simply Stampin' Sketch Week

Good morning,

It's Saturday, and it's time for another challenge at Simply Stampin' this week it's back to the good old sketch, and as always we have a great one for you!

I've stuck to the sketch, using a circular stamp repeated and inked in the different colours, Lucky Limeade, Rich Razzleberry and Night of Navy. I was still on a stitch high when I made this card so I decided to hand stitch grid lines around the circular elements. I added a sentiment from Up, up and away, and a clear button tied with linen thread.

I'm excited to see how you get on with this layout! Happy stampin' xx

Simply Stampin' Colour Challenge

Good morning,

It's time for another challenge over at Simply Stampin' and this week it's a colour challenge, normally I love colour challenges but I must admit when I read these colours out loud I thought, they are NEVER going to work together!!
I set to work and made a card, but when I got the rest of the DT cards through I realised I had used the same set as another of the team, argh! stamps set and same colours, but rather than panic I thought, no it's OK I'll just make another, so here it is

Now I have to confess, Ihave swapped the neutral from white to vanilla, and I have also been a it naughty in that as I used First Edition DSP as my background I have also used black ( the print), but I'm hoping that you and the rest of the team won't mind.

I think I may have got a little carried away but once I'd started I found it very hard to stop, I have used, Forever Young, Solid Stripe, and Just Believe for the sentiment, as well as ribbon, brads, pearls, I really think everything I have is on this card.

I hope you like it and I will share my original with you later in the week.

If like me you were a little scared of the colours, I hope you will still give it a go, can't wait to see what you come up with! Happy stamping, xx

The Early Bird

Good morning,

If you can call it morning, it's before 7am, and I've been up for ages. My kitty is still poorly think we're nearing 3 weeks that he hasn't been well for now. Currently he had an abscess under his chin/mouth which is now open, he has antibiotics and a cone which he HATES! When he is 'coned' he always wants lots of cuddles, which means I haven't had very much sleep for the past 3 nights since the cone went on.
So at the moment I'm trying to type at the timy computer desk while he sleeps across the front of it.

right back to crafting, I have made this card for two challenges the sketch I have followed is from the Paper Players and the colour combo is from CR84FN,

I have chosen Basic grey as my neutral colour (hope that counts) I still had it out on my desk from the previous card I made and I thought it went well with the blues.

I have used Just Believe, for this card. I recieved a thank you card Saturday using the set, which reminded me I had it and I'm sure I've never used it!! How terrible so it has now seen ink! I have added a distressed edge to the circular layer, and embossed the grey layer with the Manhattan Flower embossing folder.

Enjoy the rest of the bank holiday weekend, xx

Pick a Petal

Good Morning,

I have been crafting for almost 4 years now and have been purchasing Stampin' up! products for the last 2 years although I have only been a 'demo' since January. Ever since I got to thumb through my first SU! catalogue I have had a wish list as long as your arm! There are some sets that you want, but they never seem to get to the top of your list, other things always push them back. Well that's how it was for the Pick a Petal set, it's always been on my wish list but when ordering I've always been wooed by something else. Well about a fortnight about I finally got my hands on it and now I'm wondering how I ever did without it!

Take a look at this card I made using the Pick a Petal set and the in-colours.

I don't want to blow my own horn but isn't it pretty?! I wish that I'd got it ages ago now, and I can see it being being turned into butterfly wings, and I have used the centres for the background stamping in this card.

I have also just managed to get this posted in time for the Try it on Tuesday challenge, which is flower power.
Hope you like my offering, xx

Tall and skinny? Not at all like me!

I normally tend to make A6 or square cards but I was rummaging through my craft room drawers at the weekend and came across a few tall thin card blanks that I bought forever ago, so I thought I'd try something different. Now I'm not saying that I'll be making them all the time but it's nice to have a change every now and then, and this was a good change I hope you'll agree.

Apologises for the terribly shadowy picture, I wanted to get them all photographed before the light went and time was not on my side, when I get creative time just flies by!
I had lots of little pieces of the designer love letter paper left over and didn't want to waste any, they are so pretty that it would be a crime to throw them away!

Here's the recipe
Stamps, Because I Care, Just Believe, Bliss SAB
Paper, Love Letter, Very Vanilla, Real Red
Ink, Cherry Cobbler
Accessories, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Dimensionals

Have a good evening,
