Mojo's Back!

Good Evening,

I'm not just talking about my personal mojo, I'm talking about Mojo Monday, they have been taking a little break for the past 2 weeks but they have returned to help us get the grey matter working, and I for one am relieved they are back!

Here's the sketch they are designed for us to play with

Isn't it fab, a perfect for sketch for me because I love to matt and layer so I decided to make a card with an autumnal feel, I know many of you will be holding onto the last days of summer, but I quite like autumn. I love the colours of the leaves changing, snuggling under a duvet with my fluffy slippers on, and its means that I can start to get excited about my all time favourite part of the year........christmas!

I have taken the colour combo from my colour coach and tweaked a little, the colours I have used are, More Mustard, Not quite Navy, and Garden Green.

The eagle-eyed among you will have spotted the ribbon and may be thinking to yourself, Stampin' up! don't make that colour ribbon, and you'd be right, I have taken the white organza ribbon and colour tinted it with More Mustard to make a matching ribbon for my card. I also blasted the tails with my heatgun until they curled up, but unfortunately they were too long for the card so I had to chop them down a lot.

Hope you have a great week, xx

Viva la Verve Finale

What a day, I've been a very busy bee!

If you are just joining me I set myself the task this morning of making a card for the 4 Viva la Verve sketches released so far this month, there is one more to be unveiled, but that isn't until Friday so my inky fingers can have a rest before then.

This finale card is by far my favourite, (shhh, don't tell the others, so much so that I would like to share it with the ladies over at Make it Monday hope they like it as much as I do) I have turned the sketch around to make a horizontal card and combined it with the colour challenge over at Just Add Ink, which I wasn't sure about as I'm not normally a fan of oranges but I actually really loved in the end!!

I have combined a retired stamp set with a new one for this card, I think they really compliment each other, plus I think this card could be used for a man or women, which always good to have on standby!

Can't wait for the next sketch now! Why not have a go at a sketch yourself? xx

less is more take 2

Yes that's right two posts in one day, this is becoming a bit of a weekend habit!

I've enjoyed the Less is More challenge so much this week, that I've decided to have another go at it. Stampin' up! has some really nice sentiment stamps so it was really hard to choose which to use yesterday, so I thought that I'd have another go at it with a different sentiment, this time from Occasional Greetings, this set is so useful, it has something for nearly every occasion, and this sentiment is my favourite from it.

Again like with yesterdays card I've stamped then masked off the sentiment, so that the leaves look like they are behind it. I also decided to stamp the leaves, from the Autumn Splendor set off the edge to tie it all in together. What do you think?

The recipe
Stamps, Occasional greetings, Autumn splendor
Paper, whisper white CS
Ink, More mustard, Wild wasabi, Cherry cobbler, chocolate chip
Accessories, post-it note, stamp-a-ma-jig

Enjoy the rest of your weekend

Copy and share everything

Hello!

Today's card is one that I've CASE'd from my upline, I made a card very similar to this one at a class, but I have changed the colours for one's that I have and added a little extra, with the acorns popped up on dimensionals.

That's the great thing about craft, you can take an idea, adapt it to use materials/colours that you have and add your own little touches.

So here it is

This card is very simple to do, makes a great men's card, or even a 'just because' card.

I love the detail on these leaf stamps, and they look great in these autumn colours but would look equally good in different shades of green, for a spring/summer look.

The recipe,
Stamps, Autumn Splendor, Occasional greetings,
Inks, Cherry cobbler, More mustard, Old olive and Early espresso
Paper, Old olive and Very vanilla.

Hope you like it.

My very first post!

I'm so excited my very first blog post!

I've wanted a blog for a while but I've never known how to get started, luckily I've had some help (thanks Jules!, You can find Jules blog in my blogs that inspire me section), and I think I'm just about there, although I've changed my mind about the background several times, so don't be too surprised if you return and it's changed.

I made a couple of cards yeaterday that I would like to share with you.

The first is a tent fold A6 sized card

This week I've signed up to be a Stampin' up demo, I haven't got any card stock yet but I'm eagerly waiting for it, so I used card stock that I had from my stash.
The stamp sets used are -
SU - Butterfly prints, Because I Care
I also tried doodling on this card with a white gel pen, I'm always worried that I'm going to ruin a whole card right at the end with white pen, but was feeling brave yesterday, so I did some faux stitching around the top section and some spots around the scallop punched circle (SU).

The second of my cards is more masculine

This one uses -
SU - Autumn Splendor, Because I Care (sentiment)
my favourite chocolate chip satin ribbon (yummy), and two patterned papers from the old olive collection (both sadly retired now boo hoo, but I think you can get some old olive patterned paper in the brights collection)

Hope you like them!
