Simply Stampin Challenge Theme Week!

Good morning stampers,

This week over at Simply Stampin' it's time for another theme week challenge so we are challenging you to
Faux or Sew!
That's right we want to see stitching on your projects so whether you want to faux sew, hand sew or get your sewing machine out it's up to you!

For my card I decided to combine faux sewing with hand sewing, here's it is,

It's another Christmas offering from me, I started with a Night of navy base, and layered with Soft Suede, and Marina Mist, I like to paper pierce holes when I faux stitch I always think this gives you a more real stitched look, so around the edge is my faux stitching with my Night of Navy marker pen. I stamped the background with my Serene snowflakes, in Soft suede, then wrapped some retiring satin Marina mist ribbon around before cutting a Top Note with my Big shot machine and embossing with the new Lacy Brocade embossing folder, I inked the edges with Night of navy, next I stamped the mug, steam and gingerbread man from Scentsational Season, I hand stitched over the snowflake design on the mugs, if you look closely hopefully you'll be able to see it!!
And finished the whole thing off with a sentiment from the Contempo Christmas set.

I hope you'll enjoy stitching along with us this week and don't forget to check out the rest of the DT's offerings for even more inspiration!

Happy stampin', xx

Christmas Shopping!

Good morning,

I'm trying to get a few Christmas cards done a week so that I'm not panicking at the last minute like every other year so I thought what better place to start than the 52CCT?! the challenge for this week is Gifts of the Season. I had an idea to make little gift bags, you know what you buy things in those big dept stores and they wrap them all nicely in brightly coloured tissue paper so they look all fancy? well that's how I wanted my gift bags to look, and I think I've managed it.

I started the card with a white base and added a small Cherry Cobbler layer followed by another White layer, I stamped my greeting in Cherry Cobbler from the Contempo Christmas set, for the gift bags I used some of the brand new Candlelight Christmas DSP, I pierced holes near the top and threaded Linen thread through for the handles and added some of the gorgeous Cherry  Cobbler Tulle ribbon to get the fancy tissue paper effect I was after.

I hope you like them, I'm quite pleased with how they turned out, xx

Simply Stampin' Snowflake Sparkle

Good morning crafters.

Saturday has come around very quickly this week, and it's time for a brand new challenge over at Simply Stampin', it's theme week again, and this one is bound to get you looking forward to Christmas (if you aren't already) its Snowflake Sparkle!

I have two cards for you today, well one card two variations.

and here is the other

I know what you're thinking, they are the same, but if you look carefully, they are very slightly different.

To make these cards I stamped the large Snowflake image at one end, followed by random stamping of the other snowflakes stamps from the Serene Snowflake set, I re-stamped the large snowflake onto Melon Mambo CS, glittered and cut out leaving the centre un-glittered so I could add a glimmer brad (loving these!), I added lots of rhinestones to the plain snowflakes for extra glammer.

Right I'm off the check out what the rest of the DT have come up with. I hope you'll join us this week so I can visit you too!

Simply Stampin' Leafy

Good morning!

I hope that you all have a fun filled weekend planned, with plenty of craftiness! Saturday has come around again which can only mean one thing........ its time for a new challenge over at Simply Stampin'. There were some fab entries last week, but I'm hoping that you'll wow us again this week which some more stunners!

The challenge is.............Leafy!

Every year, I start making my Christmas cards, but something happens and I get distracted, and then the night before last post I'm rushing to get my cards done, well this year, I'm trying not to let that happen, so I thought I would try to make as many cards for the design team showcase Christmas themed ones. Now you're probably thinking, how can you make leafy into a Christmas card, well I knew exactly what I wanted to do, I just wasn't sure if it would turn out the way I wanted it to, here's my card

I made the leaves into a wreath! I'm really pleased with this card, and even happier with my bow, check out that baby!!!! To make my wreath I used the tiny leaf from the Lovely as a tree set (I'd never even inked it before, but I can see a few more of these being made now) and autumn ink colours, More Mustard, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, and Sahara Sand, plus my trusty stamp-a-ma-jig.

If you need a little more inspiration, why not pop over and check out the rest of the DT's projects. Can't wait to see what you come up with with your own leaves! xx

Simply Stampin' Sketch

Good Morning,

We had some fantastic entries into the Halloween challenge, last week, so lets hope that you'll enjoy this week just as much!

This week is sketch week, and it's a great one. I really like sketches they are the perfect jumping off point when making a card. So here is the sketch for this week.

I have decided to go for a Christmas card, and as I'm in love with my new Mocha Morning DSP I've teamed it with Dasher.

These papers have a really luxurious feel to them with touches of gold, I have used the Brushed Gold CS with them to bring out the gold.
I started by stamping the snowflake image from Winter Post with my Champagne mist shimmer paint (you can't have Christmas without sparkle), next was my toughest job, deciding which if the gorgeous DSP to use! I went with this beautiful stripe in the end, edged with more brushed gold CS. I couldn't resist adding a bit of Glass Glitter for Dasher to stand on!

I can't wait to see want you come up with for this sketch, xx
