Simply Stampin Colour Challenge

Good morning stampers,

It's time for another challenge over at Simply Stampin' and this week we have a colour challenge for you, combining a few of the in-colours that will be leaving us very very soon, so why not join us this week, it's a great chance to use up any of the in-colour CS or DSP you have that needs to be used!!

Here's the colours

I would never have thought of putting these colours together, but that's what's so good about joining in these challenges!!

Here's my take

I have used one of the many retiring sets for this card, called Cottage garden, I stamped the colour panels with the cluster of small flower in Whisper white ink, and then set to work using the colours and the rock and roll technique with one of the larger flowers, I used glossy accents and glitter on the flowers to add extra sparkle, and some in-colour glimmer brads for the centres.

I'm not sure if you can see the paper piercing I did in each corner of the centre white panel which is mounted on Concord Crush CS.

I'd love to come visit you and see how you take on this weeks colours!!!

Happy craftin'

Simply Stampin' Colour Challenge

Good morning,

It's time for another challenge over at Simply Stampin' and this week it's a colour challenge, normally I love colour challenges but I must admit when I read these colours out loud I thought, they are NEVER going to work together!!
I set to work and made a card, but when I got the rest of the DT cards through I realised I had used the same set as another of the team, argh! stamps set and same colours, but rather than panic I thought, no it's OK I'll just make another, so here it is

Now I have to confess, Ihave swapped the neutral from white to vanilla, and I have also been a it naughty in that as I used First Edition DSP as my background I have also used black ( the print), but I'm hoping that you and the rest of the team won't mind.

I think I may have got a little carried away but once I'd started I found it very hard to stop, I have used, Forever Young, Solid Stripe, and Just Believe for the sentiment, as well as ribbon, brads, pearls, I really think everything I have is on this card.

I hope you like it and I will share my original with you later in the week.

If like me you were a little scared of the colours, I hope you will still give it a go, can't wait to see what you come up with! Happy stamping, xx

Christmas In May!

Good afternoon,

A few months ago I found a Christmas challenge called 52 christmas card throwdown, each week a new challenge is set so that by the time Christmas comes around you'll have most of (if not all of) your Christmas cards done! I had to tell my friend Ruth, who started to join in the challenge straight away. I kept telling myself that I should join in, but I never seemed to get around to it.

I was reading Ruth's blog the other day and she had posted her entry for this weeks challenge, and at the bottom of her post she had completely called me out on my lack of joining in, well I couldn't have that so here is my very first (I hope of many) entries into the Christmas card challenge, and is definitely the earliest I have EVER made a Christmas card.

This week the challenge is a sketch, and I'm just squeaking through, the closing time is within hours!

Now I found the hardest thing about starting my card was deciding on a colour scheme, firstly I pulled out Razzleberry, then old olive, but then in a flash I decided to go for a Scandinavian feel card and went with Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake, I also found a bit of retired  Christmas DSP from last years catalogue that matched my theme perfectly. I have decided not to add a sentiment as I wanted to add a crumb cake seam binding bow and didn't want to over power the card, I hope the ladies won't mind.

So here we are Ruth, I have joined in and I'm really glad I did! Why not start your Christmas cards now too?!

Everyday Enchantment Coral Combo

Good morning,

As promised I'm back to share another card with you, this time I'm back to the gorgeous Sale-a-bration papers,  I've teamed Calypso Coral with Poppy Parade, I know! I would never have put red and coral together but thats the fab thing about Stampin' up! the DSP colours are already matched up so you can pull colours from them to give you colour combos that really blend well.

I have used the tiny butterfly from the Elementary Elegance set on the sentiment panel, again SU! have been really clever, the images from this stamp set echo the images on the DSP. I made another flower for this card, this time I used the scallop circle punch, and can you spot the glimmer brad in the centre? These are so sparkly and yummy, I couldn't resist sneaking one in there!

Well I'm on a roll now so tomorrow I'm hoping to have another card to share, I'd love you to pop back and see! xx

Proud Peacock

Good Evening!

Some of you may have noticed a new badge on my side bar? Well I was super excited to find when I checked my emails the other day that I had been chosen for Artists Pick over at Hand Stamped Sentiments, I was so surprised to be chosen!

Now onto a card, I made this one for Saffron at wok to give to her mum for her birthday a little while ago. It uses a new stamp set in the mini called Proud Peacock.

I wanted to use peacock colours for the card and also managed to sneak in some of my new fav DSP Spice Cake too. The flowers around the sentiment are also in the Proud Peacock set, I just used my handy Stamp-a-ma-jig and got colouring.

Hope you like it! xx

Simply Stampin' Colour Challenge

Happy Saturday,

This week over at Simply Stampin' it's colour time. I love this weeks colour's they are really spring fresh. I have used the colours to make a birthday card for my dear friend, her birthday isn't until the middle of the month but hopefully she'll be too busy to check out my blog, did I really just say that?!

I have taken inspiration for my card from a blog that I stalk regularly called Crafting Clare's Paper Moments she made this beautiful card which I have incorporated into my card design. I loved the musical notes paired with elegant florals!

So what do you think? Why don't you give this colour challenge a go? Don't worry if you don't have the exact colours, just use similar ones, as long as you use one SU! Stamp, patterned paper, or sentiment you will be eligible for a Top 3 spot. Can't wait to see you there!

Have a fab weekend, xx

Simply Stampin' Week 40

Good morning!!!

It's almost time to welcome in the New Year, but before we all have a few too many drinks and head towards a stranger with lips puckered, it's time for the Simply Stampin' challenge, which this week is a sketch.
I absolutely adore bunting on cards, it's so pretty! My friend Steph and her hubby Mark, had a little baby boy late Tuesday night, who they have decided to call Matthew. So I just had to make a congratulations card for both of them, and I thought the bunting would be perfect for a baby card!

I have used two of the patterned papers from the aptly named Nursery Nest DSP pack, and then got to work with the little lion from the Fox and Friends set and my trusty Stamp-a-ma-jig, stamping one lion in Marina Mist and all the rest in Lucky Limeade. I have cheated slightly and placed my greeting below the ribbon, I did try putting it on the ribbon but it didn't look right.

I do hope you'll join in the fun with this challenge, I can't wait to visit you and see what you come up with. xx

Simply Stampin' Snowflake Sparkle

Good morning crafters.

Saturday has come around very quickly this week, and it's time for a brand new challenge over at Simply Stampin', it's theme week again, and this one is bound to get you looking forward to Christmas (if you aren't already) its Snowflake Sparkle!

I have two cards for you today, well one card two variations.

and here is the other

I know what you're thinking, they are the same, but if you look carefully, they are very slightly different.

To make these cards I stamped the large Snowflake image at one end, followed by random stamping of the other snowflakes stamps from the Serene Snowflake set, I re-stamped the large snowflake onto Melon Mambo CS, glittered and cut out leaving the centre un-glittered so I could add a glimmer brad (loving these!), I added lots of rhinestones to the plain snowflakes for extra glammer.

Right I'm off the check out what the rest of the DT have come up with. I hope you'll join us this week so I can visit you too!

Simply Stampin' Colour Challenge

Good Morning,

A big thank you to everyone who entered the sketch challenge last week, it was my turn to choose the Top 3, and you guys certainly made it a difficult job! Hope on over to the Simply Stampin' Challenge to see if you're on it.

This week its a colour combo, and if like me you seem to have made mostly Christmas cards lately this colour combo may get you thinking outside the Christmas box.

I am definitely loving this bright combination, and it also gave me an excuse to ink up a set that I bought but haven't used yet, (what with all the Christmas preparation) it's called Everything Eleanor and it is beautiful!!

I started with a Concord Crush base, then stamped the flourish from the set in Lucky Limeade onto Whisper White CS, I then inked the edges of this panel with Melon Mambo and adhered. Next I stamped the main banner shaped in Concord Crash, and stamped the sentiment (one of the retired hostess sets from last year, Afterthoughts) in Whisper White ink (hopefully you can see it if you look closely) before cutting out. I added Jumbo Eyelets to each end so I could thread the beautiful Lucky Limeade ruffled ribbon through. Finally I added some stamped flowers and finished then off with sparkly Glimmer Brads!

Can't wait to visit you and see what you come up with using these beautiful colours, xx
