Paper Piecing with Love Letters

Hiya!!

Well this  is the last of the cards I made the weekend before last, however I do have another stack of cards to share with you from last weekend, including a couple of men's cards, shock horror!!

This final card again uses some retired DSP, called Love Letter, I have mixed this with the beautiful rose from the Happiness Shared stamp set.

I always love the combo of red, black and cream, so these papers were always dear to me, and I had a little left over from last year, so I thought why not?!
For the rose I stamped the image onto the Vanilla CS, then again onto the Love Letter DSP and some Old Olive DSP, cut out the sections and glued them to the Vanilla piece, this is a really great way of adding colour, I left some of the sections uncoloured as I didn't want to over do it. Have you tried this technique before? If not give it a go, it's so easy!

A Freshly Made Card

Hello again,

My day is panning out quite well this is my second post for today, and I'm back with a card for a challenge that is new to me, it's called Freshly Made Sketches. Each Wednesday a new sketch is uploaded for us to play along with , this is a fairly new challenge, I'm joining in with week 4, so I'm sure they'd love you to stop by and join in.

The sketch features a tag, I don't put tags on my cards very often but I always like the effect when I do. Here's what I came up with.

A non-crafter may think that all the elements of a card like this are already printed and you just cut and stick, but I really enjoy starting with a plain white piece of paper and ending up with something pretty, which is just what I did with this tag. I decided to leave the image uncoloured, as there was quit a lot of detail in the background. I'm so sad that Bella Toile will be gone forever after Friday, boo hoo.

Easel For Ruth

Sorry for my lack of posting this week, I thought I'd scheduled this post but I must have just thought about doing it, and not actually done it, hopefully this doesn't mean I'm going completely mad!!

You may remember I received a card a little while a go from the very thoughtful Ruth over at Flower Sparkle, (her blog is amazing, so please do go and check it out) if you missed her gorgeous her you can find the post here.

Well I wanted to make her a card in return, and I wanted it to be a special card. So I had a go at my very first easel card, I have always thought that these cards looked really complicated but It was actually much simpler than I expected and very fun to do!
Ruth had posted about her fear of orange, this is a fear that I share coupled with yellow, these colours scare me so I wanted to try and make a card using this colour. I decided on the in-colours Peach Parfait and Pear Pizazz.

So what do you think? Not bad for my first attempt. I actually quite like this colour now, I think because it's not a really bright orange, and aren't these FREE (level 1 hostess) papers just gorgeous!

Learn techniques and get freebies

I would like to set up a monthly club where you can do exactly that.

What would it involve?

The club would need 6 members to work, each month for a total of 6 months I would send you everything that You would need for a new technique. Ink,  paper tools etc. This would cost £25, plus £1 p&p. In exchange for the £25 you would receive £25 worth of products, full instructions and colour photo of the cards/3d items that you will be able to make.
If you already some of the items needed for that technique, you could substitute that product(s) for another of the same value or more (if more expensive you be need to pay the extra), In addition one month out of the six, each member would be the 'hostess' and would get the usual hostess benefits of a £150 order - a level 1 hostess gift and an extra £15 of products of your choice.

Earlier I told you that I had a few mother's day cards to make, I have only managed one so far today, got side tracked with a couple birthday cards, but here it is.

It is quite simple, I really wanted the stamped image to be the main focus of the card, so I didn't want to add to many other details, although I had add a bit of ribbon, even if it is only a tiny bit.

Accessories, Early espresso satin ribbon, stampin' write marker, rhinestones, sponge dauber, dimensionals
